Fit first. Then, the outfit.
A size label is a starting point. The measurements and silhouette tell you more.
Begin with something you own
Choose a shirt or pair of pants that fits the way you want the new piece to fit. Lay it flat, measure without stretching and compare like with like. A close-fitting top and a relaxed cardigan should not have identical chest measurements.
Read the shape
Check length alongside chest width for tops. For pants, compare waist, hips and total length; an inseam is listed only when available. A wide leg changes the line of the outfit even when the waist measurements are the same.
Use a small set of combinations
A button-front shirt with straight pants can be your weekday starting point. An open knit adds texture. A casual dress makes an easy single-piece outfit, while a wool coat gives a longer line over either choice.

We keep each style’s original size labels and do not translate them into a U.S. size without supporting measurements. If you are choosing between sizes, send us the style name and the measurements you are comparing through our Contact page.
